What it is

Minefun.io is an online multiplayer game set in a blocky 3D world. You pick one of its maps, from parkour obby courses to a zombie apocalypse, and play alongside other people or friends in a private room.

The loop

Minefun.io drops you into a world built from cubes and asks you to choose where to go. Poki lists nine maps. The one most people start with is parkour: a course of floating platforms where you run, jump and dodge obstacles to reach the end without falling. Other maps range from islands to a classic obby world and a zombie apocalypse mode.

You share each map with other players online. If you would rather play with people you know, you can join a private room or send a room code to friends so everyone lands in the same place.

Coins you collect along the way buy skins. A skin changes how your character looks, nothing more, so there is no reason to grind for one before you feel comfortable with the jumps.

Early advice

  • Take the first platforms slowly to learn how far one jump carries before you try to run a course.

  • Try crouch (C) on an easy stretch, so the key is already under your finger when a map needs it.

  • Play a public map before inviting friends. It is easier to share a room code when you already know how the menus work.

  • Spend coins on a skin once you have a favourite map; cosmetics do not help you clear a course.

Good fit

People who like 3D platform jumping, block worlds and playing next to friends without installing anything.

Think twice

  • Maps are online and shared, so other players' behaviour is part of the experience.
  • Some modes, like the zombie map, may be too tense for younger children.
  • Poki shows ads around its games.
